We believe every generation owes a debt of gratitude to the RAF and their families.

For over 90 years, the RAF Association has championed a simple belief – that no member of the RAF community should ever be left without the help that they need.

Alongside Navigating Dementia, we reach out to thousands of servicemen and women, past and present, right across the country to help them in their time of need.

Whether it’s by providing friendship, key advice, financial assistance, or retirement living accommodation, we bring vital support to people across the RAF community whenever they need it.

Navigating Dementia course

The accredited face-to-face training course will include information about dementia, sources of support, self-help, and the opportunity to talk with people in a similar situation.

The course is open to serving personnel, veterans and their families and anyone else that is part of the RAF community. Courses are held on RAF stations or RAFA branches.

‘Finding it Tough?’ mental wellbeing courses

Are you or someone you care about finding it tough?

We recognise that being part of the RAF community can sometimes place a strain on everyday life. Whether you’re a veteran, a family member of someone serving, or a member of the supporting community, such as a contractor working on an RAF station, we all need a little bit of help from time to time.

That’s why we offer free mental wellbeing training courses, catering to the individual needs and challenges of all those within our community.

Connections for Life

Loneliness affects tens of thousands of people across the RAF community.

Whether it’s a veteran struggling to adapt to life after service, or a family member facing difficulties alone, loneliness can be devastating to people’s mental and physical wellbeing.

The RAF Association’s Connections for Life service aims to fight loneliness with friendship and create a resilient, empowered and connected RAF Community.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re currently serving, or you’re a veteran or a family member, we’re here to help. We carefully and sensitively deliver support to members of the RAF community to suit the needs of each person.

Whether it is financial aid that is required, support with navigating the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme, or the need to get away for a while, our casework team will do their best to help.

Our expert team of caseworkers work closely with the individual to make the right connections and offer the right support, whether that is through services offered by the RAF Association or other organisations nationwide that offer specialist assistance.
